Photocatalytic Degradation of Dye Pollutant Over FeTPP/NaY Zeolite Nanocomposite

چکیده مقاله:
Nitrophenols are used in the synthesis of pesticides, synthetic dyes, leather colouring agents and some medicinal products [۱]. However, nitrophenols in the wastewater are known as pollutant materials because of their classification as toxic compounds [۲]. Recently, elimination of ۴-nitrophenol (۴-NP) has attracted attention of researchers [۳].The aim of this study was the preparation of Fe(III) tetraphenyl porphyrin encapsulated NaY zeolite (FeTPP/NaY) through the zeolite synthesis method in which NaY zeolite was synthesized around cationic Fe porphyrin and an isolated site was obtained [۴].FeTPP/NaY was used as photo-Fenton reagent. The catalyst displayed an efficient photoactivity in the degradation of ۴-NP in the presence of H۲O۲ under UV irradiation. The chemical oxygen demand (COD) results reveal that ۴-NP was degraded to simple inorganic materials. The reaction pathway was identified by the detected intermediate species using spectrophotometer and other experimental methods.
