چکیده مقاله:

Following the Microbead-Free Waters Act of ۲۰۱۵, the cosmetic industry sought natural alternatives to plastic microbeads in rinse-off cosmetics due to environmental concerns. Perlite, a volcanic glass or amorphous aluminosilicate mineral, has emerged as a frontrunner. Perlite is characterized by its lightweight, porous structure and unique properties. Perlite microspheres offer gentle yet effective exfoliation, effectively removing dead skin cells without irritating the skin. Their high absorbency makes them ideal for products aimed at controlling oiliness and preventing breakouts. Additionally, perlite improves the foaming and lathering properties of personal care products, enhancing their overall performance and user experience. Perlite microspheres have found widespread use in various personal care products, including body and face scrubs, whitening toothpaste, makeup, sunscreens, skin care products, and shampoos. In body and face scrubs, perlite's gentle exfoliation leaves skin smooth and refreshed. In whitening toothpaste, it effectively removes surface stains and brightens teeth without damaging enamel. Perlite's light-diffusing properties enhance the coverage and finish of makeup products, creating a flawless, natural look. Its ability to absorb UV rays makes it a valuable ingredient in sunscreens, providing additional protection against the sun's harmful rays. Perlite's gentle exfoliation and oil-absorbing properties make it suitable for a wide range of skin care products, including cleansers, moisturizers, and masks. In shampoos, perlite helps remove dandruff and impurities from the scalp, promoting healthy hair growth. Perlite microspheres have proven to be a sustainable and effective alternative to microplastic beads in cosmetics. Their gentle exfoliating properties, high absorbency, and ability to enhance product performance make them a valuable addition to a wide range of personal care products. As the cosmetic industry continues to move towards more sustainable practices, perlite is poised to play an increasingly significant role in the development of eco-friendly and effective formulations [۱-۲].
