چکیده مقاله:
Climate change, with its cascade of effects like disrupted seasons, rising sea levels, andthreatened ecosystems, demands urgent solutions. Capturing and utilizing carbon dioxide (CO۲)is a promising approach, and chemical fixation of CO۲ into cyclic carbonates is consideredparticularly effective. This research introduces a novel catalyst, Perlite/SbCl۳, for this CO۲conversion process. This catalyst is not only cost-effective and environmentally friendly, but italso boasts multiple active sites, enhancing its efficiency. Remarkably, Perlite/SbCl۳ enablescyclic carbonate synthesis under exceptionally mild conditions: low CO۲ pressure and solventfreecondition. This translates to a practical and eco-friendly approach. To fully understand thecatalyst and the product it generates, we employed various characterization techniques likeNMR, SEM-EDS, XRD, XRF, and FTIR. In essence, this research presents a groundbreakingcatalyst with the potential to significantly advance CO۲ capture and utilization for mitigatingclimate change[۱-۲].
