چکیده مقاله:

Most women who have thyroid problems and healthy women have significant changes in the control of thyroid function duringpregnancy. These consequences need to be thoroughly understood, adequately assessed, interpreted, and managed. Pregnancy isfrequently accompanied by hypothyroxinemia and a propensity to develop a goiter in women who reside in iodine-deficient areas. In۲ to ۳ percent of pregnancies, there are overt clinical thyroid abnormalities, but there are likely many more subclinical cases that gounrecognized. changes in the mother's thyroid function brought on by an iodine deficit, thyroid hyperactivity, or thyroid hypoactivityduring pregnancy. The effects of thyroid disease on the fetus or infant will be significant. Increases in basal metabolic rate, bloodflow, heart rate, and cardiac efficiency are brought on by pregnancy, and a number of symptoms, such as weariness and heatintolerance, raise the risk of hyperthyroidism. The stimulation of the thyroid gland by hCG and the acceleration of the thyroxinemetabolism are two examples of metabolic alterations that occur during pregnancy. These changes are brought on by an increase inplacental deiodinase enzymes.
