چکیده مقاله:
Background: The global challenge posed by COVID-۱۹ is primarily driven by its rapid spread. Notably, diabetes exacerbates the risks of morbidity and mortality among patients with COVID-۱۹. This study aims to evaluate the impact of COVID-۱۹ on the quality of life and general health of individuals with diabetes. Methods: This cross-sectional study randomly selected ۳۰۰ individuals with and without diabetes, who were diagnosed with COVID-۱۹ and seeking treatment at Kermanshah hospitals in ۲۰۲۲.Data was collected by using a demographic information questionnaire, a ۲۸-question general health questionnaire (GHQ-۲۸), and a ۳۶-question quality of life questionnaire (SF-۳۶). The data was analyzed using SPSS v ۲۴, by chi-square tests and independent t-tests at a significance level of p<۰.۰۵.Results: The study revealed a significant difference in general health scores between diabetic and non-diabetic groups (P=۰.۰۰۱). Non-diabetic participants had higher general health and quality of life scores. There was also a significant difference in total quality of life scores between the two groups (P=۰.۰۰۱). These findings emphasize the impact of diabetes on well-being, highlighting the need for targeted interventions. Conclusion: The presence of diabetes in patients with COVID-۱۹ has been shown to have a negative impact on both their general health and quality of life. Consequently, it is crucial to implement effective care interventions that can effectively improve the general health and quality of life outcomes specifically in individuals with diabetes who are affected by COVID-۱۹.
