چکیده مقاله:

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the basic method for brain tumor imaging. It is essential for every stage of patient care, from diagnosis and therapy planning to treatment response and/or recurrence assessment. Currently, brain cancers can be diagnosed and monitored more effectively thanks to neuroimaging, which can characterize both the morphologic and non-morphologic (functional, hemodynamic, metabolic, cellular, microstructural, and occasionally even genetic) aspects of the tumors. A unique magnetic resonance method called Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) is utilized to measure the various metabolites present in a tissue voxel, or volume pixel. In clinical settings, N-acetyl aspartate (NAA), choline (Cho), and creatine (Cr) are the primary metabolites in MRS. Necrosis and recurring brain tumors can be distinguished from one another using MR spectroscopy. Cho/NAA, Cho/Cr, and NAA/Cr ratios are considerably superior predictors of detecting recurring malignancies. As a result, the MRSI can be used to distinguish between tumor necrosis and recurrence.
