چکیده مقاله:
Purpose: Health care systems play a key role in responding to the growing problems ofpatients with type ۲ diabetes by supporting their autonomy in providing routine care. HealthCare Climate Questionnaire (HCCQ) was designed to assess patients’ perceived degree ofautonomy support within the care practice settings. The main purpose of this study was totranslate and evaluate psychometric properties of the Persian version of HCCQ (HCCQ-P) tobe applied among the Iranian and other Persian speaking patients with type ۲ diabetes.Patients and methods: Translation/back translation procedures had been carried out toprepare a preliminary draft of the HCCQ-P that was subsequently sent for face and contentvalidity appraisal by a group of ۱۵ health education/promotion and nursing specialists. Minorrevisions were performed based on the feedbacks, and content validity ratio (CVR= ۰.۹۱) andcontent validity index (CVI= ۰.۹۵) were within the acceptable range. The structural validityof the scale was assessed by exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Results: The exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis outputs (RMSEA= ۰.۰۷۹, CFI=۰.۹۷۶, TLI= ۰.۹۶۷, SRMR= ۰.۰۲۲) represented proper performance and fitness statistics ofthe translated HCCQ in one-dimensional model similar to the original scale. The internalconsistency and reliability scores were approbatory of the translated measure validity (α=۰.۹۴۵ and ICC= ۰.۹۹۹ (P= ۰.۰۰۰)).۲Conclusion:In this study, the translated HCCQ-P scale represented robust internal validity to be applied inassessment of health care settings’ supportiveness in care provision to Persian speakingpatients with type ۲ diabetes. Future cross-cultural and multidisciplinary studies arerecommended to investigate the applicability of the scale in different patients/cultural groupsand health care settings.
