چکیده مقاله:
The need for developing online education programs is growing at a rapid rate in the post -Covid-۱۹ era. Today, in ۲۰۲۳, it is almost inconceivable that there was a time when academics did not use new technologies, mainly the Internet as well as the increasing number of educational websites.With the emergence of COVID -۱۹, Web-based technologies and online instructions provided various new possibilities for teachers, learners, syllabus designers and discission makers in educational settings.This article aims to provide a brief history of information technology and education, online teaching, its development and implementation, the advantages, obstacles and challenges.However, the widespread use of online teaching is a new phenomenon and calls for its own technologies and Infrastructure to support it. Their use is still limited due to some obstacles, such as the lack of technical skills among trainers, the limitations of conducting practical internships, the difficulty in monitoring students, and insufficient feedback.The findings of this study show that online teaching enhances education and has a lot to offer to the learners, e.g. developing learner autonomy and achieving better learning outcomes and also recommend a mixed method i.e. traditional face-to-face and virtual education in the post-pandemic era. Faculty members in all parts of the world should be adequately equipped and trained with online teaching as soon and as much as possible. Designing appropriate e-platforms for exams and ensuring stable internet connectivity are also recommended for effective e-learning.
