The relationship between adverse childhood experiences and marital relationship quality

Mental injuries in the early years of life are a common phenomenon that, if not treated, can lead to a troubled adulthood for a person. In general, developmental fear means experiencing difficult situations and unfortunate events in childhood. The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the role of adverse childhood experiences and the quality of marital relationships. In terms of the purpose of the research, the present research is of an applied type and based on the nature and method, it is a descriptive-survey research of the correlation type. The statistical population of the present study includes a number of married Rojs of Tehran who resided in this city in ۱۴۰۰. The research sample consists of ۵۰ married women of Tehran, who were selected by cluster sampling method. In order to collect information, childhood trauma questionnaires and marital relationship quality scale were used. To analyze the data, the descriptive statistics methods of Pearson's correlation coefficient and regression were used with SPSS.۱۶ software. The research findings showed that there was a negative and significant relationship between adverse childhood experiences and the quality of marital relationships.
