The effect of Orem's self-care program on the level of physical, psychological and social health of women with miscarriage: a clinicaltrial

Women may suffer from psychological problems before, during and especially after miscarriage . . The aim of this study was toinvestigate the effect of Orem's self-care program on the level of physical, psychological and social health of women with miscarriage.This clinical trial was conducted on ۹۶ women with miscarriage . They divided equally into two groups of intervention and control.They Needs Assessment Questionnaire for the physical, psychological and social health, immediately after the miscarriage and threemonths later. The obtained data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods in SPSS software version ۲۱.No significantly different in physical ,psychological and social awareness. (P=۰.۹۷۳), (P=۰.۶۷۶). There was no significant inknowledge (P=۰.۷۰۸). and in physical attitude (P=۰.۰۶۸). No significant difference was observed in psychological attitude(P=۰.۹۲۶and social attitude (P=۰.۵۰۶). No significant difference in physical function (P=۰.۱۰۸and psycological function (P=۰.۶۶۲).However social function, in the intervention group was significantly higher than the control group (P=۰.۰۵۸). There was no significantdifference between the two groups in function (P=۰.۷۱۲).Orem's individual self-care education was more effective than lack of self-care education on the social function of the women withmiscarriage.Therefore, given the role of counseling to identify and meet the physical, psychological and social needs and need-basedtreatment.
