چکیده مقاله:

Software-Defined Networking (SDN) has emerged as a transformative technology with the potential to revolutionize network management and design. This paper explores the capabilities of SDN in addressing various challenges faced by contemporary networks, including performance, scalability, security, and interoperability. The key feature of SDN, the decoupling of control and data planes, enables real-time network programmability, offering advantages such as network customizability, configurability, improved operations, and increased performance. While SDN shows promise in cloud computing, data centers, and Network as a Service (NaaS) offerings, challenges like scalability, reliability, and security need attention. The three-layer architecture of SDN, comprising infrastructure, control, and application layers, underscores its potential for efficient configuration and innovative network designs. Integration with Network Function Virtualization (NFV) further enhances SDN capabilities, allowing for dynamic deployment of virtual control instances and efficient service function chaining.Despite challenges, SDN demonstrates superior performance in various real-world scenarios, such as large-scale optical networks and data communication networks. The integration of SDN with NFV and its potential applications in cloud computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and data center networks make it a crucial technology in modern businesses relying on cloud services.
