چکیده مقاله:
Energy is a very important factor in all industries. Energy efficiency improvement is a convenient way to reduce costs and increase predictable earnings, especially in times of high energy-price volatility. A heat exchanger is a device used to transfer heat between two or more fluids. Heat exchangers are used in both cooling and heating processes. However, optimizing heat exchangers is challenging due to the discontinuous and non-differentiable nature of the calculations involved in determining hydraulic thermal design variables. To address this challenge, metaheuristic algorithms such as PSO, I-ITHS, CI, GWO, DE, GA, and NSGA II are utilized. In this work, it is provided a new idea to make the differential evolution (DE) algorithm faster. The suggested opposition based DE (OBDE) employs opposition-based optimization for population initialization and also for generation jumping. Its main advantage is that the convergence of this method is proved using mathematical theorems which is available in our previous articles. The results show that the OBDE method has a lower objective function than other heuristic algorithms and output of Aspen HYSYS software in case study. In addition, in some special cases, it is not possible to design a heat exchanger with Aspen HYSYS software, in these cases, using opposition-based optimization can be useful.
