Hardware Professionals’ Perspectives on Embedded Systems Software Integration

This study presents an empirical analysis of the integration of software with hardware inembedded systems, gathering insights from professionals who navigate this complex domain.It investigates the prevailing practices, challenges, and strategies that underpin successful integrationprocesses, along with the support and resources deemed most beneficial. The findingsreveal that ۴۶.۹% of professionals start considering software requirements from the initial conceptstage, and ۴۰.۴% collaborate with software teams at every stage of the embedded systemdesign process—underscoring the essential role of proactive engagement in addressing integrationchallenges.The results also indicate hardware/software compatibility issues as the mostcommon challenge, faced by ۳۵.۶% of the respondents, while simulation tools (۳۵.۶%) emergeas the predominant methodology adopted to surmount integration hurdles.
