چکیده مقاله:

Colon pressure point or Hugo point is a pressure point located on the back of the handbetween the thumb and index finger Stimulating this point can reduce pain in any part ofthe body .This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of massaged at the Hoku point on theseverity of the pain of catheterization in hemodialysis patients. In this randomized clinicaltrial that was conducted in ۳ stages. In the first session, intensity of arterial and venouspuncture pain, without applying any intervention, was recorded using the numerical ratingscale (NRS). In the second and third sessions before catheterization, It was massaged on theHugo point for ۱۰ minutes and the intensity of pain of arterial and venous fistula wasimmediately measured. Data analysis was done in (Stata) version ۱۴ (SPSS)version ۲۶.Themean score of pain in the first session (arterial: ۸/۳۰±۱/۴۹, venous: ۷/۷۵±۱/۷۷) was comparedwith the mean score of pain in the second (arterial: ۵/۲۰±۱/۶۴, venous: ۴/۷۵±۱/۶۴) and thirdsessions (arterial:۳/۰۰±۱/۳۳, venous:۳/۳۰±۱/۳۸). The results of repeated measure analysis ofvariance showed that the mean score of pain significantly reduced in the second and thirdsessions compared to the first session (P<۰.۰۵).massaged at the Hoku point can be suggestedas an effective
