The Effect of Transcribing on Intermediate Iranian EFL Learners’ listening Comprehension

In this study, the effect of transcribing on Intermediate learners’ listening comprehension were examined. For most of the studies, researchers used top-down processing while listeners’ problems are more of perceptive ones (bottom-up). So, the present study used transcribing to investigate its effect on learners’ comprehension listening ability. In this study, ۱۰ female students participated. The control group did not have any transcribing practice while the experimental group did transcribing practices. For analysis the result, independent samples t- test was used to compare the two groups. After analyzing, researcher found that transcribing has a significant effect on Intermediate learners’ listening comprehension.
