چکیده مقاله:
Due to the presence of a heterogeneous azeotrope between ethyl acetate and water, separating the mixture of ethyl acetate, water, ethanol, and acetic acid requires two consecutive distillation columns equipped with decanters. On the other hand, distillation columns consume a significant amount of energy. Therefore, given the energy crisis, economic concerns, and environmental issues, the necessity for an efficient heat integration method is evident. In this paper, the feed splitting method is employed for heat integration of the process. Given the close relationship between energy consumption and environmental issues with the exergy losses, the proposed process is compared with the conventional approach in terms of both energy consumption and exergy losses. The results demonstrate that the proposed process has reduced energy consumption and exergy losses by ۳۰% and ۵%, respectively. The primary factor contributing to this improvement is the significant reduction in hot utility.
