چکیده مقاله:

Deep Eutectic Solvents (DES) offer innovative solutions to address major constraints in electrochemicalreduction. They make it easier for carbon dioxide to dissolve, make it easier to choose the right product, andstop the competing electrochemical reaction of hydrogen evolution in the range of potentials for carbon dioxidereduction. Ultimately, these limitations enhance the energy efficiency of carbon dioxide conversion. Ethaline (amixture of choline-chloride ([Ch] Cl) and ethylene glycol (EG) in a ۱:۲ ratio) as an electrolyte has observed ahighly selective conversion of CO۲ to CO with a faradaic efficiency of ۹۵ ± ۵% at -۱.۴ V vs. Ag/AgCl. Using Ethalineas an electrolyte, the CO۲ conversion is increased by about ۴۵% compared to ۰.۵ M KHCO۳ media
