An efficient one-step process for the synthesis of hexahydro-۶H-thiazolo[۳,۲-a]quinolin-۶-one derivatives based on heterocyclic ketene aminals

A straightforward method has been created to produce thiazoloquinoline derivatives through asingle-step reaction involving l,l-dimethylthio-۲-nitroethene, cysteamine hydrochloride, aromatic aldehydes,and cyclohexane-۱,۳-dione in the presence of Triethylamine in a H۲O and C۲H۵OH mixture. The series ofconsecutive reactions includes Knoevenagel condensation, Michael addition, intramolecular cyclization, andimine-enamine tautomerization. The key benefits of this approach include rapid reaction times, accessibility ofinitial compounds, high atom efficiency, straightforward purification of products, and the use of water/ethanolas environmentally friendly solvents
