چکیده مقاله:
Three adhesive materials with different mechanical characteristics were considered in this study to analyze the effect of adhesive mechanical characteristics on fatigue performance of an aluminum plate with initial inclined crack that is strengthened with adhesively bonded composite patch, against fatigue load. Extended Finite element method (XFEM) was implemented using a user-defined subroutine in Abaqus, in order to model fatigue crack growth in the strengthened plate. The results show that brittle Specimens exhibiting high ductility and high failure strength, such as those bonded with FM ۷۳ OST epoxy adhesive, tend to suffer less damage in the context of this study. Conversely, adhesives with lower failure strength or ductility are more prone to experiencing greater damage.
