چکیده مقاله:

Despite having favorable mechanical properties such as highstrength and hardness, vcn۱۵۰ steel is one of the hard-to-cutmaterials, and non-traditional machining methods can beused for its machining. In this research, the material removalrate of vcn۱۵۰ steel was investigated by wire cutting withelectric discharge. The wire cutting process with electricdischarge is one of the electrical discharge machiningprocesses, which has found many applications in moldingindustries due to its many advantages, such as having highdimensional accuracy and optimal surface smoothness. Thisresearch studies the on and off time of the pulse on thematerial removal rate of vcn۱۵۰ steel in the electricaldischarge machining process with the help of WEDM. Toinvestigate the effects of process parameters on the materialremoval rate of vcn۱۵۰ steel, the surface response methodand Box-Benken method were used. And three levels werechosen for each of the input variables. The results of the testsshow that increasing the pulse light time and also increasingthe pulse off time will reduce the material removal rate in themachined samples of vcn۱۵۰ steel in the electric dischargemachining process
