چکیده مقاله:

One of the most used processes for joining different parts in many industries is the use of welding processes. Among these processes, the gas metal arc welding has found many applications in the automotive and petrochemical industries due to having various advantages such as favorable mechanical properties and fewer defects. In this process, the precise setting of the parameters to achieve a good quality joint with less defects are of particular importance. This research studies the effects of wire speed and welding speed parameters on the bead geometry in the process of GMAW. In order to investigate the effects of process parameters, the experimental design was used in full factorial method. Three levels were selected for each of the input parameters. The output responses of the process, which represent the weld bead geometry, include the weld bead width and height. The results of the tests show that the maximum width and height are equal to ۹.۱۸ and ۳.۹۸ mm, respectively. Also, increasing the wire feeding speed increases the width and height bead in the welded samples. With the increase in welding speed, the width of the bead has increased, but the height of the bead does not change much.
