In this research, the effect of heat exchangers and their arrangement for preheating the crude oil feed inletto the distillation column was investigated with the aim of reducing energy consumption and CO۲ emission.Simulation was done for four modes of heat exchanger arrangement and by using exergy analysis, it wasspecified that the arrangement of heat exchangers in series has the highest heat exchange (Method ۳). In thismethod, the reduction of CO۲ emission is ۳۳۳۳۳۳ and with a value of ۶۳۱۶KgCO۲/hr, it has the lowestamount of CO۲ emission among all methods.
