چکیده مقاله:

The expansion of cyber space, along with its countless benefits, has created serious and fundamental challenges for children and their rights. The main concern of parents about access to inappropriate content and children's communication with abnormal and unreliable people, as well as sexual and financial abuse, has caused parents to create serious restrictions on children's access to cyberspace. This kind of restriction violates their rights which are emphasized in different international conventions, like the Convention on the Rights of the Child. To prevent the violation of these rights, media literacy training can help families and parents. Teaching media literacy generally in schools in young age can eliminate parents' concerns about the abuse of their children. Furthermore, it can help to realize their rights to access to information and media in the virtual space and can provide children's intellectual development.
