Treatment of Pinworm by Leek vegetable (Allium Porrum)

Case presentation:An ۱۱-year-old boy came to the doctor’s office with the problem of abdominal pain and anorexia, and anemic appearance. The abdominal pain started about ۳ months ago, but it has become severe in the last month, and he has suffered from anorexia, insomnia, and suffering. Tehran Children’s Hospital has been diagnosed with covid virus or appendicitis. The covid virus has been reported with negative CRP tests and lung X-ray.After that, with the possibility of diagnosing appendicitis, a laparoscopy was recommended, but due to the opposition of the parents, they referred to Iranian traditional medicine. Considering the positive teeth grinding at night, as well as drooling on the pillow for a long time, and the child's symptoms and anemic appearance, the diagnosis of parasites was made. According to sources of Iranian medicine, leek vegetable (Allium Iranicum)is anti-parasitic and hematopoietic, so a large amount of leek plant (half a glass of leek juice per day) was prescribed. There were about ۶۰ tiny white worms in the leek,at first time and after continuing of leek decreased amount of worm.After ۱ week ,I visited him and he and his parents were vary happy for the healthy of their son.Conclusion:According to Iranian traditional medicine, leek is one of the most profitable plants available to Iranians and is used in Iranian medicine sources to treat anemia, hemorrhoids, parasites, and other cases.
