Municipalities and the Probability of Debt-Trap: An Awareness-raising Attempt on the Issue of Urban Development and Mass Recruitment of Chinese

Germans are said to have an allergy to debt and always appear to attempt escape from being in debt individually and in masses and this might be one of the good reasons why they are hard-working and why they are one of the ۳ or ۴ top economies globally. However, some other countries۱might not regard it that bad to borrow from others as in the case of one of our neighbors in which its north and south locales were connected through newly-built road networks by the money newly-borrowed from an emerging economy which seems to be devouring many others just like what a black hole does to some galaxies. As we observe it through the case of Seri Lanka, whose borrowing cost it dear, resulting in almost the loss of Hambantota port forever or at least for a century or so, which is a thing nobody knows. This short paper attempts to raise awareness amongst those decision-makers concerned to be tactful and quite careful not to lose the seemingly socioeconomic, cultural and topographic battleground to some emerging colonizer and keep the State independence by restraining from the risk of idealistic construction projects. Such alluring projects might sound fantastic on the face but they might be just like ant holes which are realized by the ants when escaping from which is almost impossible and it is too late to do anything.
