The effect of clay impurity with silica on the compressive strength of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC)

Today, with the advancement of science and technology in the building sector, the use of lightweightmaterials with energy conservation and high execution speed at the lowest cost is more felt, and lightweightconcrete products have responded to this need. Considerable research studies have been conducted on thedevelopment of new building materials using different types of materials, and the production of durableand high-strength concrete requires the use of high-quality raw materials. One of the important impuritiesin concrete is the presence of clay in its composition. In this study, the behaviour of clay on the compressivestrength of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) has been discussed. The results show that the presence ofclay in the concrete composition has reduced the compressive strength. So that the density of pulp andcompressive strength by increasing the amount of clay from ۷.۵% to ۳۵% has caused a decrease in densityfrom ۱.۷۱۸ gr/cm۳ to ۱.۶۳۸ gr/cm۳ and a decrease in resistance from ۳۷.۴۴ kg/cm۳ to ۲۵.۳۸ kg/cm۳respectively.
