چکیده مقاله:

The application of composite structures has been increasing in several engineering aspects. One ofthe most practical and efficient composite structures is the Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers (CFRP)which have shown significant advantages in various applications. These composites can undergo severalchallenging conditions and mechanical loading that can be exposed to severe temperature change. Thissimultaneous thermo-mechanical loading can affect the material behavior and failure. However, due to theircomplex microstructure, the analysis and design of micro-structures remain a challenging procedure. Sincethese composites are strongly heterogeneous, direct numerical simulations are mostly expensive and otherapproximate methods cannot accurately satisfy the requirements. In this paper, a multiscale computationalhomogenization method, known as FE۲, is proposed for simulation of heterogeneous media. The two-scalesare defined to satisfy the Hill-Mandel energy consistency condition and two conventional microscopicboundary conditions are employed to ensure the compatible scale transition. The system of thermomechanicalequations is solved in a fully coupled manner in two scales. Finally, a CFRP composite plate isnumerically analysed to illustrate the efficiency of the computational method
