چکیده مقاله:
This research contributes to the advancement of knowledge in self-sensing materials and their practicaluse in civil engineering by offering innovative solutions for monitoring and maintaining infrastructure. The experiment involves precise measurements of electrical resistance to track changes in moisture levels. The focus is on improving the self-sensing capabilities of concrete by adding ۰.۱۵% carbon nanotubes(CNTs) per weight of cement. The main emphasis lies in evaluating the electrical behavior, specificallythe resistance, of concrete in response to different moisture levels. Concrete samples are saturated initiallyand then dried in an oven at ۹۰ C for ۹۴ hours to speed up moisture reduction. The results show a strongcorrelation with a goodness of fit of ۰.۹۳ between decreasing moisture content and increasing electricalresistance, highlighting the potential of self-sensing concrete to identify moisture variations throughelectrical signals. These findings are crucial in demonstrating the sensitivity of the concrete sensor indetecting changes in moisture, known as the moisture gage factor, which can impact structural healthmonitoring by showing the effectiveness of self-sensing concrete in recognizing environmental changes.Additionally, a model has been proposed to predict moisture levels in concrete structures based on thefractional change in the electrical resistivity (FCR) of the sensor.
