چکیده مقاله:

In today’s modern life, electrical machines have become an important part of the main engineering industry. Due to the rise of the electricity usage since the dawn of industrial century, the engineers have been trying to establish beneficial technologies in order to make sustainable advancements in manufacturing industries. Given the fact that the more a technology is used in different industries, it becomes more variable as the developments make more benefits to it. Thus, the developments in the electric machines have made them even more useful in either electricity creation or other energy transformations. Therefore, given the improvement of these machines and their optimum use, the need to reduce the electricity consumption is considered more than before. In order to enhance the work-rate, they need to be mathematically modulated. The more complete this modulation is presented, the higher will be the machine’s runtime. Different methods for modulating electrical machines have been introduced, which are generally divided into three main categories. The first category is numerical methods including Finite Element Method and Magnetic Equivalent Circuit. Both methods calculate the machine parameters with precision but, depending on the machine’s configuration, have low speed for dynamic analysis. In the second group of methods, which are independent methods of analysis, are the Fourier Analysis and the Conformal Mapping method. While each has its own specific advantages and disadvantages, the most common drawback is the disregard of saturation computation and its most notable advantage is the high speed in dynamic conditions analysis. Finally, the third category is a combination of the previous two categories, the Finite Element Method and the Magnetic Equivalent Circuit, along with the use of the Fourier Analysis and Conformal Mapping method which the primary benefit of this category is the optimal usage of the advantages of the former categories.
