چکیده مقاله:
The role of language learners is going to be noticed by teachers andresearches as the main constructors of their own learning processes. Learnersalso can play a key role in assessing their own language skills. This paper aimsat investigating the impacts of EFL learners' self-assessment on their use ofcognitive and metacognitive vocabulary learning strategies. To do so, ۱۰۸Iranian EFL learners were participated in this study. Four vocabulary quizzeswere administered to be assessed by the learners during four instructionalsessions. In the fifth session, a validated vocabulary learning strategiesquestionnaire (developed by Gu and Johnson, ۱۹۹۶) was filled by learners. Theobtained data were correlated by SPSS ۱۰. The results indicated that learners'self-assessment can guide them to develop their metacognitive and cognitivevocabulary learning strategies.
