چکیده مقاله:

Today, certain urban areas seem to be neglected, with urban life either halted or slowed. This is particularly evident in post-industrial centers and waste depots [landfills]. An emerging approach in landscape architecture focuses on revitalizing these areas through transformations in their structure, nature, and aesthetics. This approach not only alleviates the monotony of the previous spaces but also streamlines them, enhancing the perception and experience of these spaces. Due to their distinct features and challenges, these landscapes require specialized methods in landscape design, ecology, and urban planning for rehabilitation, as they cannot be reintegrated into urban functions through traditional development approaches. This approach challenges conventional aesthetic norms and allows for the appreciation of the unique interactions that emerge independently within these spaces over time. Considering that waste disposal centers detract from the urban landscape's aesthetics and pose health risks due to waste accumulation, transforming these sites into urban green spaces, parks, recreational areas, and especially Eco-Parks can mitigate environmental pollutants and prevent their dispersion into the natural environment. On one hand, these lands are incapable of supporting structural loads after being filled, and on the other hand, they represent large, unused areas. Transforming these sites into urban green spaces, parks, and recreational areas not only creates valuable urban greenery but also serves as an effective strategy for controlling environmental pollutants and preventing their release into the natural environment. Generally, there are three types of landfills in our waste management system: landfills for mixed urban waste, landfills for ground or crushed solid waste, and monofills for special waste. Unfortunately, in Iran, separate sites for the disposal of these different types of materials do not exist. As a result, all these materials are buried together, which can cause serious and potentially irreversible damage to the living areas surrounding the site.
