Marine Renewable Energies: A Comprehensive Review of Technologies, Requirements, and Encompassing Aspects

Marine renewable energies (MREs) have emerged as a promising alternative to conventional fossil fuel-based energy sources. With their vast and untapped potential, MREs offer a sustainable and environmentally friendly solution to meet the growing global energy demand. This paper presents a comprehensive review of MRE technologies, with a focus on their technologies, implementation, socioeconomic and economic aspects, potentials, stakeholders, etc. The paper also discusses the potential of Iran to harness MREs, considering its vast water resources and strategic location.
