Investigating the destructive effects of using non-standard lubricants in the open gear of pellets factory discs and analyzing gear failures

For the lubrication of the open gears of the discs of pellet mills, according to the operational conditions, bentonite or aluminum complex based greases are generally used due to their compressibility properties, good resistance to wear and corrosion, high temperature tolerance and suitable pumping ability. This study compares and investigates the effects of using greases with bentonite and aluminum complex on the pinion and crown wheel discs of the pelletizing area of Sirjan Iranian Steel Company and the analysis of gear failures, as well as the necessity of conducting additional tests by the laboratory to measure the quality of lubricants. The input to the warehouse and its impact on the equipment is processed and checked.
