Securing GIS data for water and electricity infrastructure is crucial for maintaining the integrity of critical systems and ensuring data confidentiality. This article provides a comprehensive review of the existing literature on best practices and challenges in GIS data security for water and electricity infrastructure management. The research question focuses on identifying effective strategies and potential obstacles in securing GIS data for these industries. The methodology employed includes a systematic review, meta-analysis, and narrative review of relevant articles. The review highlights the importance of adopting a comprehensive approach to GIS data security that encompasses technical measures, policy frameworks, and organizational strategies. The findings from this review have significant implications for water and electricity infrastructure management, emphasizing the need for ongoing research and collaboration among stakeholders to address emerging cybersecurity threats and challenges effectively. The limitations of the review and suggestions for future research are also discussed
