چکیده مقاله:
The construction industry, a significant consumer of non-renewable energy sources, influences our planet significantly owing to its utilization of over half of all globally extracted materials. In facing this challenge, advanced materials emerge as crucial in steering architectural designs towards sustainability. With the built environment implicated in considerable environmental impact via intensive resource and energy use, a paradigm shift toward sustainable and eco-friendly architectural practices is gaining momentum. This progression necessitates the integration of innovative materials celebrated for their superior ecological benefits and performance. Sustainable architecture's rise reflects an imperative shift to curtail environmental harm, harnessing materials that excel in energy and resource efficiency. This article explores the critical role these advanced materials play in eco-friendly design, providing an in-depth analysis of their capacity to enhance sustainability throughout the building's lifecycle while mitigating its ecological footprint. Shared through illustrative case studies, such as Seattle’sBullitt Center and BioMASON's pioneering biocement, it conveys the impressive prospects of embedding these materials into contemporary infrastructure. Additionally, it aims to underscore that while advanced materials propel us toward eco-efficiency, their broader adoption hinges on addressing the equilibrium between innovation, affordability, and functionality-propelling research, cross-sector collaboration, and supportive policies to embed these materials into the fabric of future eco-conscious designs.
