Investigating the cost of NOx emissions caused by the effects of changes in the price of electricity and petroleum products in the agricultural sector of Iran

The agricultural sector is one of the most important sectors, and in turn, it can sometimes have an adverse effect on agricultural production and activities with the introduction of pollutants. The increase or decrease in the price of energy carriers is also significant on the number of changes in demand and consumption. Therefore, the correct use of energy in all sectors, including agriculture, can lead to sustainable production, economic production, slowing down the process of exhausting fossil reserves and preventing air pollution. The purpose of this research is to investigate the changes (increase or decrease) in the price of energy carriers on the cost of NOx emissions in Iran's agricultural sector. In this study, a vector auto regression model (VAR) based on annual data during the period ۱۹۹۸-۲۰۱۹۱۹, which includes ۳ energy carriers (pe price of electricity, pf price of petroleum products, ec energy consumption of the agricultural sector) and the cost of Nox pollutant and added value The agricultural sector is used. The results showed that the increase in the price of electricity in the agricultural sector for the pollutant i.e. Nox by ۹۵۵۰.۳۹ million barrels of crude oil caused costs of ۹۴۲۳۱۳۲۰۰ thousand billion Rials per ton in the agricultural sector in ۲۰۱۱, which this price increase reduced costs has been Also, fluctuations in the price of petroleum products in the agricultural sector have caused an increase or decrease in pollution costs, and the increase in energy consumption in the agricultural sector has caused an increase in pollution costs. As a result, the most important effect of the increase in the price of energy carriers in the agricultural sector is the reduction of costs caused by the release of environmental pollutants in this sector. Based on this, it can be expected that the increase in the price of fuel carriers can lead to a reduction in the costs caused by the emission of Nox, therefore, the increase in the price of energy carriers can play an effective role in controlling the cost of damage caused by the emission of environmental pollution.
