چکیده مقاله:

In present work, for utilize agrowaste and reduce carbon foot prints of plastics, orange peel derived activated carbon (OPAC) loaded into maleic anhydride-g-high density polyethylene (MA-HDPE) greencomposites were fabricated with different weight fractions of (OPAC) viz.,۰,۵, ۱۰, ۱۵ and ۲۰ wt.% by the extrusion method followed by injection molding. The physico - mechanical and thermal characteristics properties of fabricated (OPAC) filled green composites have been measured by using DSC, TGA. A slight improvement in thermal stability was noticed for (OPAC) loaded biocomposites. A slight improvement or retain in tensile properties (strength and modulus) after incorporation of (OPAC) into HDPE matrix was noticed. From TGA and DSC data indicates increased thermal stability of (OPAC) filled composites. The enthalpy change of composites was reduced due to decrease in HDPE content in composite systems. However, with increase in (OPAC) loading water absorption of filled composites was slightly increased.
