چکیده مقاله:

The purpose of this study was to examine how storytelling influences the levels of shyness and aggression in primary school girls. We used a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test measures and a control group. We assessed shyness and aggression with Rutter’s Questionnaire of Behavioral Disorders (Teacher’s Form) (۱۹۶۷) and Samui’s shyness questionnaire (۲۰۱۲), respectively. The participants were ۳۰ eight-year-old girls from District ۲ of Karaj, Iran, in the academic year ۲۰۲۱-۲۰۲۲, who scored high on both questionnaires. We randomly assigned them to either the experimental group (n = ۱۵) or the control group (n = ۱۵). The experimental group received ten sessions of storytelling intervention, while the control group did not receive any treatment. The teachers of both groups completed the questionnaires before and after the intervention. We analyzed the data using ANCOVA and found that storytelling had a positive effect on reducing shyness and aggression in primary school girls.
