Prevalence of personality disorder in students of Sanandaj city

The purpose of the present study is to investigate the prevalence of personality disorders among university students in Sanandaj, Iran in ۲۰۲۱. The statistical population of the research includes ۴۰۳ university students in Sanandaj, Iran, who were selected as an available sample. The participants answered the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory-III. The results indicated that ۲۱.۶% of students exhibited symptoms of a personality disorder, and ۵.۹% of them were diagnosed with personality disorders. According to the findings, the highest percentage of students suffering from personality disorders were obsessive ۱.۷%, depressed ۱.۲%, dependent ۱%, histrionic ۰.۷%, narcissistic ۰.۷%, schizoid ۰.۲%, avoidant ۰.۲%, and paranoid ۰.۲%. Furthermore, none of the students was diagnosed with antisocial, sadistic, passive–aggressive, masochistic, schizotypal, and borderline personality disorders.
