چکیده مقاله:

Radiotherapy is the treatment of diseases, most usually cancer, using ionizing radiation (electro-magnetic spectrum) to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. In another word, radiotherapy is a high-energy x-ray treatment, and the aim is to get the optimal dose of radiotherapy to the tumour and the minimum amount of the radiotherapy to the surrounding normal tissues because when we treat the normal tissues that we run into problems with side effects. In the past ۱۱۱ years, external beam energy for the treatment of cancer has continually evolved. In this article, two main modes will be reviewed. First is Radiotherapy and second will be photodynamic therapy and there will be an overview on the recent achievements of combination of radiotherapy and photodynamic therapy via proton therapy.
