The role of Spiritual Experiences in the Psychological Hardiness of Nurses with the Mediation of Mindfulness

Introduction: Psychological toughness is described as one of the most important health potentials in theoretical and research bases, so the present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the mediating role of mindfulness in the relationship between spiritual experiences and psychological hardiness of nurses. Method: The present research was a Cross-sectional analysis type of path analysis. The research community included all the nurses of Birjand city in the second six months of ۲۰۲۳, of which ۲۸۰ people were selected Stratified random sampling method (male and female). The data collection tools were spiritual experiences questionnaires by Underwood and Tersi (۲۰۰۲), mindfulness by Chadwick et al. (۲۰۰۸) and psychological hardiness by Kiamerei et al. SPSS version ۲۲ and Amos software were used for data analysis. Results: Bentayj showed that spiritual experiences have a direct positive effect on mindfulness (p < ۰.۰۱, β = ۰.۵۹۲). Spiritual experiences have an effect on psychological hardiness both directly (p<۰.۰۱, β=۰.۱۹۸) and through the mediation of mindfulness (p<۰.۰۱, β=۰.۲۲۴). Mindfulness has a direct positive effect on psychological hardiness (p<۰.۰۱, β=۰.۳۷۹). Conclusion: According to the results of this research, it is suggested to pay more attention to improving spiritual experiences and mindfulness in order to improve the psychological hardiness of nurses.
