چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Date palm pollen (DPP), derived from the male reproductive dust of palm flowers, showspromise as a natural intervention for addressing fertility concerns and enhancing reproductive health. Infertilityaffects couples unable to conceive after a year of regular and unprotected sexual activity, leading to physical, emotional, and financial burdens associated with conventional treatments. This comprehensive review examinesthe therapeutic potential of DPP for reproductive system health and fertility. Rich in estrogen-like compounds, sterols, estrone-like compounds, and steroidal saponin glycosides, DPP may enhance female fertility byproviding estrogenic support and promoting reproductive capabilities. Additionally, its estrogen contentsuggests potential benefits for male infertility by regulating spermatogonial stem cells and male reproductivetissues through estrogen receptors. Methods: The most relevant articles were collected using the main keywords fertility, infertility, and date palmpollen in the titles and abstracts of articles indexed in databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar, Scopus, andScience Direct. Duplicate articles were excluded. Next, the full text of the remaining articles was reviewed, andirrelevant articles were removed. In the final stage, the remaining articles were categorized and discussed. Results: Findings from various studies suggest that DPP is an effective, affordable, and safe treatment optionfor improving sexual performance and reproductive factors. It enhances sexual desire, facilitates successfulconception, and improves semen parameters in men, while positively influencing hormonal balance and fertilityrelatedfactors in women. Further research is needed to optimize dosages, treatment durations, and investigatepotential interactions. Standardization of extraction methods and quality control measures are essential forensuring consistent and effective DPP-based interventions. Conclusion: In conclusion, DPP offers a promising natural remedy for fertility concerns and reproductive healthenhancement. Its therapeutic potential, supported by its chemical composition and reported benefits, warrantscontinued research and clinical trials. Integrating DPP into mainstream healthcare practices could provideindividuals and couples with an alternative, effective, and accessible approach to support their reproductivejourney.
