Introduction: Marital satisfaction plays a crucial role in overall life satisfaction and family functioning, as wellas impacting individuals' work success and social relationships. Research suggests that job-related issues andworking conditions can significantly influence marital satisfaction. This study aimed to evaluate the maritalsatisfaction of Jiroft University of Medical Sciences staff, comparing those working regular shifts with those ondifferent schedules. The research sought to understand how job-related factors impact marital satisfaction, whichis crucial for overall life satisfaction and family well-being, as well as work success and social relationships.Methods and Materials: This study, carried out in ۲۰۲۲, was a descriptive-analytical cross-sectional researchinvolving employees of Jiroft University of Medical Sciences. A total of ۱۶۵ individuals were chosen throughstratified random sampling, with specific inclusion criteria. Upon obtaining consent, participants wereadministered the Enrich ۴۷-item questionnaire to assess marital satisfaction. The data analysis utilized theStudent t-test with SPSS۲۳ software.Results: Marital satisfaction among employees of Jiroft University of Medical Sciences (۳۱% male and ۶۹%female) was found to be ۱۶۰.۹۴ ± ۳۳.۸۰. The study revealed significantly higher marital satisfaction amongmorning shift employees compared to those with rotating shifts (p= ۰.۰۰۱). Additionally, the analysis indicatedthat work shift only affected marital satisfaction for female employees (p=۰.۰۰۴) and healthcare workers(p=۰.۰۰۵) in terms of gender and type of work.Conclusion: Given the results and the significance of the shift work variable on marital satisfaction, it is crucialto provide additional attention and support services, especially for healthcare workers and women, to enhancefamily life and improve organizational productivity.
