Introduction: Considering the problems caused by cervical cancer (CC), it is essential to know the factorsaffecting the use of cervical cancer screening (ccs) services. The objective of our study was determining therelationship between knowledge and access to screening services with CCS in marginalized women in BandarAbbas. Methods: This case-control study was conducted in the suburbs of Bandar Abbas in ۲۰۲۲ using a questionnairethat contained demographic information, reproductive details, and knowledge and access to screening. Thesamples were selected from six comprehensive health service centers. The data were statistically analyzed usingSTATA ۱۴.۲, and a p-value of <۰.۰۵ was considered statistically significantResults: The case group (۲۰۰) had higher knowledge and access scores than control group (۴۰۰) and thebetween-group difference was statistically significant (p-value <۰.۰۰۱). According to multivariate regressionanalysis knowledge and access were positively and significantly correlated with the CCS behavior inmarginalized women. Also, the odds of performing CCS in married, diploma and higher educated, middle andhigh SES groups and non-smoking participants was higher than others. Conclusion: The findings of the present study indicate the importance of access to screening facilities inaddition to increasing the knowledge of marginalized women. Furthermore, there is a need to remove barriersto CCS in women with low SES to increase the rate of CCS. The present findings help to better understand thefactors involved in CCS.
