The role of infections in the development of lymphoma: A Brief Review

چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Lymphoma or lymph node cancer affects the lymphatic system, which is part of the network thatfights germs in the body. Lymphoma can affect all areas of the body and involve other organs as well. Viral andbacterial infections are considered as one of the risk factors of lymphoma, which can increase the risk oflymphoma by damaging lymphocytes, so the present study was designed to identify the infectious agents thatcause lymphoma in a review way.Methods: In this review study that was conducted in ۲۰۲۳, three world scientific databases, including ISI,PubMed and Scopus, were reviewed using the keywords Infection, lymphoma, immune system. The inclusioncriteria was included the availability of the article and having a Latin text, and the exclusion criteria was includedarticles published in congresses. At first, ۹۹ articles were retrieved, after applying the inclusion criteria andchecking the title and abstract of the articles, finally ۱۴ articles were reviewed to collect information.Results: Among the infections that increase the risk of developing lymphoma are Epstein-Barr, which causesallergic and autoimmune diseases, Helicobacter pylori infections, which are usually associated with stomachulcers, or chronic hepatitis, which causes inflammation and negative effects Cited. Campylobacter jejuniinfection also causes gastrointestinal infections and is related to the lymphatic system associated with mucus inthe abdominal areas.Conclusion: In general, studies have shown that Epstein-Barr virus, Helicobacter pylori infections, hepatitisand Campylobacter jejuni infection play an effective role in causing lymph node cancer Therefore, it is possibleto reduce the risk of lymphoma with a doctor's examination, annual check-up, compliance with personal hygieneand self-care, preventing the development of infections or treating them in time
