Telemedicine technology in the COVID-۱۹ pandemic: A Brief Review

چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Telemedicine (TM) is used to manage the diagnosis and treatment of patients in remote locations.It is all about the concept that works on the use of internet based services, connected network etc. in healthcare.The current review study is designed to investigate the positive aspects of TM technology in the COVID-۱۹pandemic.Methods: In this review study that was conducted in ۲۰۲۳, three world scientific databases, including ISI,PubMed and Scopus, were reviewed using the keywords of “telemedicine” and “Covid-۱۹”. The inclusioncriteria were included the availability of the article and having a Latin text, and the exclusion criteria wasincluded articles published in congresses. At first, ۱۲۷ articles were retrieved, after applying the inclusioncriteria and checking the title and abstract of the articles, finally ۱۵ articles were reviewed to collect information.Results: TM has many applications and can be used as multiple services, including wireless methods,collaborative video, email, apps, web, and other specialized approaches. Therefore, the quality of internetfacilities plays a vital role in providing appropriate medical resources and treatments. In the epidemic of Covid-۱۹, this proposed method saves time and unnecessary movements of patients and doctors from one place toanother to receive and provide facilities. Doctors can check the patient's symptoms through video conference.Among the significant applications of TM for COVID-۱۹, doctors can use TM services for initial diagnosis andtreatment plans of patients with COVID-۱۹ by accessing CT reports, chest radiographs, etc. On the other hand,TM stores patients' health records. If the data indicates that the patients' health is deteriorating, this informationis sent wirelessly to the healthcare providers so that they can take the necessary actions immediately. The mainapplications of TM are to reduce the number of hospital visits to prevent any infection, especially in pandemics.Conclusion: Overall, the results show that TM as an innovative technology can be used in remote areas todetermine the status of COVID-۱۹. By using it, you can improve the quality of life of patients by providingtimely advice and treatment and preventing complications. TM helps to avoid going to the doctor and hospitalduring quarantine. Finally, TM appears to be a cost-effective and safe solution for healthcare delivery duringthe COVID-۱۹ pandemic.
