چکیده مقاله:

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVESUrinary tract infection is the most common bacterial infection during pregnancy and an important risk factor for severe maternal and perinatal outcomes. This study was conducted with the aim of determining the prevalence of urinary tract infection and its related risk factors.MATERIALS AND METHODSThe present study was conducted on the mid-morning urine of ۲۰۰ pregnant women suspected of having a urinary tract infection who had referred to the treatment center of Zahedan hospitals. For each sample, complete urine and culture tests were performed. Then, the isolated bacteria were colonized with more than ۱۰۰,۰۰۰ bacteria per milliliter of anti- biogram.RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONIn this way, the obtained results showed that ۲۹ samples (۱۴.۵%) were positive out of ۲۰۰ urine samples tested. The most common clinical findings were fever (۷۲.۴۲%), heartburn (۴۱.۳۰%), flank pain (۶.۹%) and blood in urine (۶.۹%). The most common microbes in positive urine cultures are: ۱۶ cases of Escherichia coli (۵۷.۱۴%), ۳ cases of Klebsiella (۱۰.۴۱%), ۲ cases of Pseudomonas (۴.۱۶%), one case of Proteus vulgaris and one case of coagulase-negative Staphylococcus each (۳.۵۷%) and ۴ cases were caused by mixed bacteria (۱۴.۲۹%). The results of the anti-biogram test showed in terms of bacteria. The degree of sensitivity of E.Coli It was resistant to gentamicin (۲۶/۷۹) and to gentamicin, tobramycin and ciprofloxacin (۳۳/۸) and to cotrimoxazole (۶۵/۷۲). Klebsiella was sensitive to gentamicin (۸۲/۷۵) and ciprofloxacin (۷۲/۴۱) and resistant to cotrimoxazole (۵۹/۲۶).CONCLUSIONProper spacing between pregnancies, special care of pregnant women of middle to low social class and women suffering from severe vomiting of pregnancy can play a significant role in preventing urinary tract infections and related complications. The results of this study indicate a significant increase in antibiotic resistance among urinary tract infection agents. Based on the findings of the research, it is recommended to be more careful in choosing and prescribing antibiotics for experimental treatment, and the antibiotic sensitivity pattern of the disease-causing bacteria must be investigated before prescribing the drug.
