Dams are massive multifunctional projects where water supply for drinking, farming, industry, power generation, and flood control, and etc., which is one of their goals and is one of the most important projects in every country. In the forthcoming research, our goal is to evaluate the safety of Karoun ۳ arched concrete dam under earthquake load. Accordingly, at first vulnerable points of the concrete dam are identified. This recognition is based on a review of previous studies and a series of nonlinear dynamical analyzes. Karoun ۳ arc concrete dam is modeled in the software and under hydrodynamic pressure caused by the fluid, and the acceleration caused by the earthquake is applied. Due to these acceleration actions, tension and compression stresses are created in the dam, which may damage some dam points under these tensions and cause cracks in them.
