چکیده مقاله:

Leishmaniasis as a main public health problem in the world, affects about ۱۲ millions of people worldwide. It hassome clinical features like cutaneous, muco-cutaneous and visceral leishmaniasis that cutaneous and visceralfirms are endemic in some parts of Iran. Visceral leishmaniasis (VL) is endemic in some districts of EastAzarbaijan province. The protective immune response against leishmaniasis is cell mediated immunity. Inductionand dominance of CD۴+ Th۱ immune response is necessary for effective clearance of Leishmania parasites. CD۴+Th۱ cells is critical for activating infected macrophages to induce iNOS that is responsible for killing Leishmaniaparasites within infected cells., this study was directed to determine the frequency of -۹۵۴G/C genotypes iniNOS gene and its effect on susceptibility to leishmaniasis .
