چکیده مقاله:

introductionEntamoeba histolytica is the third leading cause of parasitic mortality globally. E. histolytica infectiongenerally does not cause symptoms, but the parasite has potent pathogenic potential. The origins, benefits, and triggers of amoebic virulence are complex. Amoebic pathogenesis entails depletion of thehost mucosal barrier, adherence to the colonic lumen, cytotoxicity, and invasion of the colonicepithelium. Parasite damage results in colitis and, in some cases, disseminated disease. Both host andparasite genotypes influence the development of disease, as do the regulatory responses they govern atthe host-pathogen interface. Host environmental factors determine parasite transmission and shape thecolonic microenvironment E. histolytica infects. Here we highlight research that illuminates novel linksbetween host, parasite, and environmental factors in the regulation of E. histolytica virulence.methodologyWe explored databases of PubMed and Google Scholar and identified articles that were publishedbetween ۱۹۹۰ and ۲۰۲۳ with these keywords: "Entomoeba histolityca " "Amoebiasis"and "pathogenesisof entomoeba" Then we chose about ۷۰ articles and we deleted some of them by our scope.Discussion and conclusionAmoebiasis continues to be a large health issue in developing countries, particularly in children. Withincreased travel and emigration to developed countries from endemic areas, the incidence andprevalence of amoebiasis continue to increase. Since most patients are asymptomatic, diagnosis andtreatment can be challenging for clinicians, potentially leading to continuous spread of the disease. E.histolytica should be considered as a differential diagnosis of colitis and with certain extra intestinalmanifestations, particularly when certain demographics (i.e., gender, race, travel history) are present.
